Come celebrate Hawaiian culture through hula and music as well as cultural presentations by local practitioners and community groups, craft fair for Kauai made products, silent auction, and delicious food. Kauai is proud to demonstrate its people, culture, and beauty by highlighting the community who keeps the ancestry alive. The Kauai May Day by the Bay event will give you the opportunity to experience unique and authentic local culture hands-on.
There will be plenty of activities you’ll find at this event including a chance to learn and play konane (Hawaiian checkers), lei making, lauhala (weaving items such as hats, mats, baskets), pounding poi, and more. You’ll also enjoy various Hawaiian music and hula performances by talented musicians and dancers who will be entertaining all day long.
Of course, what’s an event without shopping! The crafter’s tent is where all the vendors will be where you can browse and purchase local made in Kauai products and food. There will also be a silent auction where you can bid on items. All monies raised and donated from May Day by the Bay is used to maintain and preserve this wonderful community event.
